Castle is proud to offer skilled trades students the opportunity to earn one of three Skilled Trades Scholarships presented by CIBC.
With awards of up to $5,000, the scholarships will recognize students who demonstrate outstanding work ethic, integrity, skill, ambition, and a passion for making a positive impact in their communities.

Castle Skilled Trades Scholarship Program Presented by CIBC
Castle Building Centres Group Ltd. and CIBC are proud to present the 2027 Castle Skilled Trades Scholarship Program Presented by CIBC, supporting individuals pursuing careers in the skilled trades across Canada.
Students of any age are encouraged to apply for a scholarship of up to $5,000 to support their studies in an eligible skilled trade program at a recognized Canadian trade college.
Skilled trades professionals play a critical role in building, maintaining, and strengthening the infrastructure of our communities. As demand for skilled trades continues to grow, Canada faces an increasing need for talented and dedicated tradespeople. Through this scholarship program, Castle and CIBC are investing in the future workforce by helping aspiring trades professionals achieve their educational and career goals while contributing to the long-term growth and sustainability of communities across the country.
Eligibility
Who can apply
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident with a valid Canadian SIN (Social Insurance Number).
- Entering full-time into the first or second year of an eligible skilled trades program at a recognized Canadian skilled trades college.
- Certificate, diploma, co-op, and pre-apprenticeship programs from the eligible skilled trades list are eligible. Apprenticeship term applications are not eligible.

What we're looking for
The Castle Skilled Trades Scholarship Program Presented by CIBC recognizes students who demonstrate:
- A strong work ethic and outstanding character
- Academic and/or professional ambition
- Integrity and diligence
- Skillfulness and achievement in their chosen field
- A passion for making a positive impact in their communities
By supporting the next generation of skilled trades professionals, Castle and CIBC are helping to build a stronger future for individuals, communities, and the Canadian construction industry.
Scholarships are awarded on these qualifications, not on financial need. Recipients are chosen by an independent third-party Scholarship Selection Committee.
Application requirements
Your complete application package

Application form
A completed and signed Castle Skilled Trades Scholarship Application Form.

500-word essay
A minimum 500-word original essay describing your educational and work background, extracurricular activities, community involvement, academic and career goals, and how you aspire to use your skilled trade to make a positive community impact.

Recommendation letter
At least one letter from a teacher, principal, clergy member, business or community leader who can speak to your work ethic, character, integrity, and/or community involvement.

Proof of acceptance
Proof of your full-time admittance and confirmed acceptance into an eligible trade program at a recognized Canadian skilled trades college.

Education or experience
At least one of the following:
- High school transcript, diploma, or GED;
- Skilled trade program transcript or previous term grades (required if entering the second term or second year);
- Résumé/CV of recent work and life experience (required if you have not attended school in the past three years).
